Mylands 2024 Highlights

As 2024 comes to a close, we at Mylands are thrilled to reflect upon the projects and collaborations that our colours have featured in throughout the year. As Britian's oldest family-owned paint manufacturer, we are proud to share our treasured heritage with creatives in and around London; shaping specific palettes for designers, galleries, and artists.

Dulwich Picture Gallery's "Rubens & Women" Exhibition

The exhibition, Rubens & Women held at the Dulwich Pictue Gallery, features an outstanding array of paintings and drawings from throughout the Flemish artist Rubens' career. Celebrating women and showcasing the varied and important placed occupied by them, both real and imagined, in his world. The exhibition walls feature a selection of colours from Mylands - Colours of London collection. Colours include Millbank™ No.254, Bond street™ No.219, Lock Keeper™ No.18, Mortlake Red™ No.290 - evoking a depth that compliments the artwork and interiors.

Dulwich Picture Gallery was founded in 1811. It is the world’s first purpose-built public art gallery. Mylands paints are made in Lambeth, South London and it was natural for us to support such an iconic venue, sharing our passion for colours, and located just around the corner from us.

Mayfair Sketch Restaurant Features Mylands Colours

As part of ‘Dreamscapes’, sketch’s Art & Design exhibition 2024, Mylands’ Film, Television and Theatre (FTT) Collection was chosen to decorate ‘Home of the Braves’ - an installation across the façade, reception and iconic pod bathroom by prominent artist and fashion designer Jean-Charles de Castelbajac.

For this installation, commanding Mylands shades of red, blue and yellow including FTT-11™ CSO Green, FTT-18™ Ultramarine Blue, FTT-08™ Mid Chrome, FTT-09™ Bright Red, FTT-10™ Vermillion, FTT-19™ Ultra Violet, Pink House Pink and Enamel Blue™ No.78 are used across multi-coloured slogan flags, playful walls covered in vibrant shields, coats of arms and imaginary weapons to immerse visitors in the combative and heroic spirit of the suffragettes.

The National Portrait Gallery's "Six Lives: The Stories of Henry VIII's Queens" Exhibition

This exhibition is the first major exhibition to place its focus on the women who married the infamous Tudor king. Exploring agency, influence and cultural impact both in life and afterlife, the exhibition steps back in time, thus showcasing contemporary portraits, costumes and sixteenth century portraits. Mylands has a long-standing association with the National Portrait Gallery, established over its many years as the UK’s oldest paint brand founded and based in London. Therefore, Mylands was asked to developed a colour scheme that compliments the portraits, evoking a sense of time and or place, creating a mermorable experiecen for the visitor.

'Mylands provide a personalised and professional service that is efficient and accommodating. The paints they produce are well mixed with a strong depth of colour and good coverage. ' - The Design Team at The National Portrait Gallery
