JINNY BLOM DESIGNS A COLOUR PALETTE WITH THE OUTDOORS IN MIND

Leading landscape designer Jinny Blom has collaborated with Mylands to create a colour palette to enrich outdoor and garden spaces with subtle touches of colour. The Mylands x Jinny Blom collection features 12 tones, inspired by Jinny’s own experience of the great outdoors, her special bond with nature and her unique talent to landscape gardens with a natural feel.

Mylands proved to be the perfect partner for this partnership, thanks to its unwavering commitment to crafting quality paints and expertise in colour. A mutual appreciation of colour and excellence in craftsmanship brought Mylands and Jinny together, resulting in a thoughtful, beautiful yet practical palette of paints.

THE COLLECTION

Comprising of 12 colourways, the colours were named after evocations of weather and landscape conditions that have inspired Jinny over the years. The collection was conceived as a set of light shades, mid tones and dark tones, with an accent shade, Blomster red – reminiscent of Jinny’s time living in Denmark and a fondness for both the red roofs and painted walls of traditional farmhouses.

The light shades provide a subtle alternative to pure white, allowing for a softer illumination in strong natural light, whilst the mid tones were developed for garden buildings and building façades, creating harmony with their natural surroundings.

The dark shades were specially created with ironwork in mind, embellishing traditional railings and gates with a tone that complements their design.

MEET JINNY BLOM, THE THOUGHTFUL GARDENER

Jinny Blom launched her London based landscape design practice in 2000 and has since curated gardens and large estates all over the world, having designed several Chelsea Flower Show Gardens, winning Gold in 2007. Jinny's designs focus on people, conservation and working with the land.

PLANT BASED PAINT: MYLANDS COMMITMENT TO SUSTAINABILITY

Mylands x Jinny Blom colour collection is available in a range of Mylands iconic finishes, including Exterior Masonry, Plant-Based Multi-Surface, Olive Stone Emulsion and our signature Marble Matt Emulsion.

As a 5th generation family business, Mylands has always put nature and innovation at the core of its business. Our Plant based collection was launched in 2012, providing a nature friendly alternative to traditional paints whilst still providing the same quality and coverage. To follow was our Olive Stone Emulsion in 2023, that uses powdered olive stones - a by-product of the olive oil industry - to create the same depth of colour with an environmentally conscious mindset.
