Colour Notes
Colour designed by Jinny Blom. A rich deep midnight blue like the sudden flash of a starling wing in flight. The colour was first inspired by the great murmurations above the rooftops of Rome. Then by the history of cobalt glass that was ground into smalt- a pigment used to fuse the deep blue colour onto old wrought iron gates. This deep rich blue is essential in the colour lexicon we use. An excellent estate colour for gates and doors and accents on outbuildings.
Recommended Preparation: Use Dark Grey Primer & Undercoat before painting walls with topcoat.
Please note that the 100ml sample pots for the Jinny Blom collection are in the Plant-Based Dead Matt finish and are suitable for exterior application on wood and metal.

THINNING
This paint has a high pigmentation. It can be thinned up to 45% and still be used as a second or third coat for a fine finish.
On porous surfaces (e.g. bare plaster): thin the first coat with up to 30% water or use a Mylands Primer.
Slightly porous surfaces: thin first coat with up to 15% water or use a Mylands Primer.
APPLICATION
- Before use clean surfaces to be painted ensuring any grease, dirt or flakes are removed.
- Do not use in extremes of temperature.
- Use between 8ºC and 30ºC.
- Stir well before use.
- This product is formulated for brush, roller or spray application.
DRYING TIME
Touch dry in 1-2 hours. Recoat in 3-4 hours.
CLEANING
For best results and to extend the life of your tools, wash brushes and rollers thoroughly immediately after use. Use warm water mixed with a small amount of mild detergent, working the paint out of the bristles or roller until the water runs clear. Rinse well and reshape brushes before allowing them to dry naturally.
Avoid letting paint dry on tools, as this can affect future application quality.
STORAGE
Ensure this product is stored in a frost-free environment and kept at a temperature above 5°C at all times.
Replace the lid securely after use to prevent contamination or drying. Store upright and away from direct sunlight or extreme heat. When stored correctly and unopened, the product will remain in good condition for up to 12 months from the date of purchase.

Proper preparation ensures the best results. Clean surfaces to remove dirt and grease, fill any cracks or holes, and apply an Mylands Primer. It's recommended to apply at least two coats of paint for optimal coverage and finish.
