Sketch Unveils 'Home of the Braves' Installation by Jean-Charles de Castelbajac Featuring Mylands' Film, Television and Theatre (FTT) Collection

The iconic pod bathroom located at sketch features sculptures designed by Castelbajac, inspired by the Suffragettes and painted in Pure White™ No.1
With interplaying colours, Castelbajac's designs are powerful and striking, featuring an array of vibrant colours to standout and be bold
Not only an homage to the fearless Suffragettes, Castelbajac's designs are an ode to his close friend Vivienne Westwood, who embodied this spirit too
As part of ‘Dreamscapes’, sketch’s Art & Design exhibition 2024, Mylands’ Film, Television and Theatre (FTT) Collection has been chosen to decorate ‘Home of the Braves’ - an installation across the façade, reception and iconic pod bathroom by prominent artist and fashion designer Jean-Charles de Castelbajac.
‘Home of the Braves’ celebrates the pioneering courage and unapologetically fearless spirit of the Suffragettes. sketch, located at No. 9 Conduit Street, has long-standing ties with the Suffragettes, being the location for a public address calling for the enfranchisement of women by Dame Fawcett in 1869. Castelbajac has dedicated the exhibition to his close friend, Vivienne Westwood, who throughout her life embodied the soul of the Suffragettes.
Renowned for his multidisciplinary work across art, fashion, and design, which is characterised by a limited colour palette of blue, yellow, and red, Castelbajac has selected eight confident and powerful Mylands shades to bring his vision to life.

Partnered with London Design Festival and Mayfair Design District, the exhibition opens on 12th September until 10th November, covering key cultural events in London including London Fashion Week, London Design Festival, PAD and Frieze Art Fair.
