Colour, Curated for Olive & Barr

Colour, Curated for Olive & Barr

In collaboration with award-winning kitchen makers, Olive & Barr, we've created The Colour Edit - a curated selection of 28 colours from across our collections. Carefully chosen to simplify the decision-making process, these versatile shades make it easier than ever to find the perfect colour for your kitchen.

Al Bruce, Founder of Olive & Barr comments: "Colour is often the main aspect people can feel overwhelmed with when designing their dream kitchen; finding a balance between being timeless, aesthetically sympathetic to the property and something you'll simply love for years to come can be difficult."

Curated by Mylands' colourists, this 28 colour palette is designed to work specifically for kitchens, ensuring each shade complements the materials and finishes that adorn the space. They include lights, mid-tones, anchorS and darks.

The colours can be seen in person at the new Olive & Barr showroom opening in Bristol this month, where a traditional Shaker kitchen features Mylands Huguenot™ No.49 against a dark stained oak island and a Sensa worktop with a striking bullnose edge.

Our pale shades are also on display, with a skinny Shaker kitchen painted in Fitzrovia™ No.26, complemented with a light oak, full height larder and a dramatic Verdi Alpa marble worktop from India.

The pairing is also already in customers' and tastemakers' homes, with Messel™ No.39 showcased in a beautiful, contemporary kitchen designed by The Country House Diaries. The darker cabinetry is complemented by white surroundings and accessories walnut stools and a lighter herringbone floor, allowing the deep, rich nature of the colour to draw the eye to the timber and hardware used.

Gemma Dalton, Mylands Colour Specialist, comments:

The Olive & Barr colour edit brings together warm whites and softly complex neutrals that establish a calm, light filled foundation. Together, the collection reflects key design directions toward warmth, clarity and a deeper tonal contrast.

The selected shades create space within a scheme, sitting comfortably alongside natural materials and allowing Olive & Barr's craftmanship and hardware detail to remain at the forefront. We've created a versatile yet cohesive edit that's been specifically designed to support schemes that feel harmonious, grounded and thoughtfully composed; naturally balancing light, structure and depth.
